Eminem is basically a human ghost and rarely appears in public these days. He hasn’t dropped an album since 2013 and the latest track he dropped was campaign speech. However you’ll also notice that his latest posts are promoting the new HBO four-part series called the Defiant Ones, including a new picture of himself, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar.
Earlier this week, at the premiere of Defiant Ones in Los Angeles, Eminem posed for a picture of him with Dre and Compton’s Kendrick Lamar. The in-depth limited series from HBO looks to offer a history on Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s time in the music industry together. Dr.Dre and Jimmy Iovine are both responsible for creating Aftermath records which gave us 50 Cent, The Game, Kendrick Lamar and many more. The director Allen Hughes had the chance to film Dr. Dre and Jimmy for three years for the making of the show. It should also include some great stories like the time Snoop Dogg hung up on Dr. Dre the first time they spoke because he wouldn’t believe he got that call.
Em is prominently featured in the trailer, differentiating between Dr. Dre the innovator and Jimmy the levitator. Seeing how Eminem signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment early in his career and they’ve been good friends through the years, Em will hopefully have some more insight into the minds of Dre and Iovine throughout the series.
But the Defiant Ones screening isn’t the only public appearance Shady’s made lately. He was in Malibu with 2 Chainz working on something mysterious, and you can peep those pics below as well.
Rapper Eminem rose to fame with his 1999 album The Slim Shady LP which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
Since then, he has released seven more albums, winning many more awards along the way.
Eminem also starred in the film 8 Mile in 2002. His song ‘Lose Yourself’ for the film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
